Our story starts under the slab
Before I started Woodburn Concrete in 2017, I spent years as another concrete contractor's right hand, running his crews and learning the trade from the dirt up. What stuck with me was how often a cracked or sinking slab traced back to things nobody saw on pour day, like a base that got raked flat instead of dug out and packed, or a slab that sent water toward the house. So that's where I start on every job.
Homeowners, builders and small business owners around Woodburn call us for driveways, patios, foundations and the repairs in between, and I'm still the one who comes out to look. That's the part I like best, because I get to show you why a slab gets built the way it does. It matters around here, too. A state risk study expects earthquake damage throughout Marion County, with more of it where the soil can turn soft in a strong quake, so I want to know what a foundation sits on before we form it. You can see the rest of what we build on our home page.
What working with us looks like
These are the parts of a job you'll actually notice, from the first visit to the day you get your driveway back. We're licensed and insured, and our promise is satisfaction guaranteed.
You talk to the person planning your job
I do the site visit and the estimate myself, and I'll point out where your water runs and where the control joints go, the cuts that give a slab a planned place to crack. You come away knowing why it's built the way it is.
The base gets more care than the finish
When a budget gets tight, the base is usually the first thing people want to trim, because nobody sees it once the concrete is down. I'd rather keep the money there and go simpler on the finish, since a slab on a dug-out, packed base is far less likely to settle with the dirt.
A walk-through when the work is done
Concrete keeps curing, slowly gaining strength, well after the pour, and how it's treated early shows for years. Before we leave, we walk you through when it's ready for feet and tires and how to look after it so it has the best shot at lasting.
What to expect from first call to finished job
A concrete job is mostly planning, so most of what happens before the pour is talking, measuring and sorting out paperwork. Here's how it goes from your side.
Call or send the form
Call (971) 772-3554 or send us a message, and we'll reply within one business day to set up a time for me to come out and see the site.
Walk the site with me
The estimate is free, done on site, with no pressure and no obligation. I'll explain what moves your price and schedule, like the size, how much digging and base work it needs, and the finish you pick.
Settle permits, then we pour
Before we set a date, we go over which office handles your permits and who applies, often the city's Building Division here, and we file when it makes sense. Then our crew lead runs the work through cleanup.
